The Skeptix "UK82" Punk Pioneers Touring the U.S. with Original 1982 Line Up!

Where are you from, when did the band form & who are the original members?

We're from Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire. The original line up started rehearsing in Chigs garage in the late 70's and consisted of:

First Line Up
Stan - vocals.
Fish - guitar
Jacko - bass
Chig - drums.

Snotty was the manager originally but soon took over on vocal duty. Ush joined around 1980 after the sacking of Jacko. The band became The Skeptix around '82 after signing to Neon/Zenon records.

What are you expectations for returning to the East Coast years after 'Holidays In The Sun' Fest (NJ, 2002)

It'll be good to catch up with friends we met last time out and make new. We're a band that likes to meet people, we're not stand offish, we don't lock ourselves away backstage. If there's a bar you'll find The Skeptix. We expect to have fun! It'd be great if people enjoy themselves too.

What motivates you guys to keep going and playing gigs?

We enjoy what do, when we get round to it! We're probably one of the laziest bands in the scene haha! Two albums in 40 odd years.

When did the original lineup start playing together again?

The band drifted apart around '86 - '87 and Fish joined Discharge, who are also from Stoke-on-Trent. After a break of 20+ years The band got back together in 2001 after being invited to play at the Holidays in the Sun Festivals in New Jersey and Blackpool, UK.

Most memorable gig in the history of the bands career?

CBGB's and many of the gigs on our first US tour were great gigs. Having  been away for so long and to be greeted by such crowds was an experience not to be forgotten. And more recently, the CY FEST.
